Pavičić is Ivo Andrić of Dalmatia
Dragan Velikić, Beograd
Pavičić has an impeccable eye for a detail, accident in a nick of time which changes marriages, family relations and existences of characters for good…. This is his best, and most mature book.
Jagna Pogačnik, Jutarnji list
Pavičić unites universal and local… he fictionalize his homeland with mimetic distance, like surgeon, aware that he can save the patient only by precise and skillfully marked incision…One of the most important chronicler of Dalmatia in last decades.
Zdravko Zima, Novi List, Rijeka
Collection of stories Ship in a Courtyard is an exquisite example of good and insightful writing about „here and now“, writing from which is cerfully extracted a „newspaper surplus“, and what remained is what it had to- literature.
Teofil Pančić, Vreme, Beograd
„Stories by Jurica Pavičić are perfectly composed, very well writen, with precise language. Pavičić mantains balance between closeness and distance from the characters. He knows how to touch deeply in a simple way. Scars that people bear, their sense of guilt, their struggle for a proper way, and urge for hope resonate deeply.
